Volunteering is a great way to gain new skills, meet new people, give something back to your community and have fun in the process. However, to make sure you get the most out of your volunteering you should also think about becoming a Millennium Volunteer (MV).
The programme is open to anyone aged 14-25 who currently volunteers or would like to start and wants to have their commitment, skills and experience recognised. Sensory Kids offers volunteering opportunities and supports our volunteers to gain a recognised certificate supported by the Department of Education through the ‘Millennium Volunteers’ programme.
As part of the programme you will get a certificate for the hours that you got, which along with support and training from Sensory Kids, means you get something that looks great on your CV and job and UCAS applications and is endorsed by employers and universities!

Volunteered for Over 2 Years
My name is Beth Lamont and I have been volunteering with Sensory Kids for 2 years. I really enjoy working with the children and gaining valuable experience. Since volunteering I have gained my 200 hour Millennium Volunteer Certificate and I am involved in the delivery of the Youth Achievement Awards for young people.
